It was an overcast morning with low lying clouds, but the beautiful grounds of the palace guaranteed a pleasant walk.  Interns enjoyed views of the picturesque arched bridges and Kunming Lake, which was littered with boats and tourists.

After a group photo and the morning stroll through Summer Palace, a buffet was offered, and everybody got their fill of Thai beef and Kungpao chicken.  The tour rolled on and everybody had a chance to hitch a ride on a rickshaw.  After weaving through the Houhai Hutong, the rickshaw ride delivered the TTC group to the Houhai boardwalk, where all enjoyed the lake view.

The tour continued again, after a short bus ride, at the famous Tiananmen Square.  Under the gaze of Chairman Mao, the group strolled across the square surrounded by the busy sounds of the city.  Trying to beat the traffic of downtown Beijing the buses moved across the city, while everybody took advantage of the downtime and took a quick nap.

Exhausted from the day of walking and activities, the group then indulged in some local cuisine before heading over to the entertaining acrobatics show.  The performers in the show pleased the entire crowd with their bending, soaring, flipping and costumes.  All in all, it was a great day had by the TTC group, and everybody has photos and memories to share with family and friends back home.
