To Go Or Not To Go, That Was The Question!| 2 min read
I decided in January this year to sell up everything, to pursue my dream and to teach English in a foreign country. The country I chose was China!
‘Why China?’ everyone asked me. Well, the culture for one absolutely fascinates me! Their beliefs and religion I find extremely interesting and just being able to explore a whole new country makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside!!! You see I’m one of the few people I know that actually embrace change! I LOVE change, so China seemed to be the perfect fit!
Lots of planning happened and the months passed so quickly until THE DAY came for me to leave. What the hell am I doing??? China??? Really??? Things had happened and feelings had changed and now I was expecting to say goodbye to someone else at the airport. Surely those weren’t my bags and we were all just waiting to say goodbye to someone else. Aah no! It was me! I was leaving 🙁 I wasn’t so sure anymore.
But off I went with a heavy heart and a lump in my throat. I held back the tears until I was through the boarding gates and then WHAM…the dam wall broke…I cried like a baby! Almost 24 hours later, via Dubai I was in Beijing.
