ImmerQi Staff Get Musical At Charity Auction!| 1 min read
In 2012, ImmerQi were invited to attend a charity auction for a group of local centers providing community service for 1000 people with learning disabilities in 12 cities throughout China. The Beijing centre was founded in 2000 and includes a workshop, four day centers, and six families, all caring for 60 trainees.
ImmerQi were invited to Jiangjinjiu Bar in the Gulou area to a charity auction of paintings by the trainees, musical instruments, albums and various items signed and donated by Chinese celebrities. ImmerQi staff members Niles Erickson, Kirsty Armstrong, Gloria Wang, Cassie Shu, James Joyce and Peter Davis attended the event which started with some lovely performances from the trainees themselves to start the evening on the right note.
The enthusiastic couple hosting then introduced the evening and commenced bidding on the first few items with James coming very close to winning two paintings but was outbid on both occasions by the same Chinese lady!
ImmerQi partner with the centre and are proud to do so, showing our support at these events being of the utmost importance to us. We enjoyed each performance as a variety of Chinese bands played well into the night at the Drum and Bell tower location and the night closed with an announcement that over 10,000 RMB was raised in just the one evening!
