With education at the forefront of ImmerQi’s programs, we believe it is important that everyone gets the opportunity to learn new skills. Our CSR committee, lead by our volunteer department, have recently constructed a series of independent living workshops built around educating members of the local community on how to care for themselves and the importance of a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
Working in conjunction with our partners at Huiling – a local non-profit organisation that supports and promotes equal opportunities for those living with intellectual disabilities in China – our skills based workshops are geared towards promoting independence and allowing those with a disability to learn to support themselves.
Our first workshop focused on teaching and practicing healthy eating habits. We had fun peeling and chopping up all kinds of fresh fruit to make delicious fruit kebabs! The best part was definitely eating them afterwards. Yum!
