Chun Jie Kuai Le!| 3 min read

It’s been a very exciting time as Chinese New Year for 2010 has come by and we’ve been doing loads of activities!

In the lead up to Chinese New Year we held a calligraphy session and also held a dumpling making session!
In terms of teaching, the focus was on peer teaching this week.
We’ve also dug up some Chinese sayings that have become popular today!

Calligraphy was a lot of fun and gave everyone a chance to test their arm (literally) at writing some Chinese characters and some even managed to write their Chinese name!
It is traditional to make and eat loads of dumplings during Chinese New Year festivities. They resemble money bags which could be the reasoning why they are a popular thing to make during this time of year! People also received a hong bao (red packets containing money) which is always received warmly!
