Marketing Intern: My First Week In China!| 2 min read
On Friday, we were introduced to all ImmerQi staff who explained us things about China and its tradition. All the staff is very kind and they helped us all day and they showed us the best place to go in Beijing. After visiting the Mandarin school and had an introduction lesson, we visited Nan Luo Gu Xiang, the most famous hutong area in Beijing. Hutong is a typical Chinese style street where you can find lots of typical local products and restaurants. It is a very nice area! Unfortunately on the way to back to our Beijing homes, it started to rain so we spent the night at home with some friends eating delivery pizza together.
We visited Silk Market, a very big bazaar in Beijing, on Saturday afternoon. However, the best part of the first weekend is to spend the amazing night with our managers partying in Sanlitun! I never thought that the nightlife in Beijing could be so crazy! On Sunday, I had a good lunch in a Mexican & Italian restaurant with Jodi and other interns. We finally got to meet the Americans.
Today I started my internship at a wine club and I met my colleagues. Unfortunately my boss wasn’t at the office but I’ll meet him tomorrow. I like my working environment although I’ve just begun because I will have the opportunity to work in a small office and get in touch with a group of smart people all day long.
The first impression about China is so strong. Chinese culture is completely different from mine but this is the main reason why I am here. Spending two months in a different country should develop myself not only professionally but also personally. I can’t wait to see what’s coming next!
