Malaysia’s Minister Of Domestic Trade Learns About Immerqi| 1 min read

Malaysia's minister and ImmerQi

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who has been part of the Malaysian cabinet since 2004, passed by ImmerQi’s booth at the ASEAN Franchise Expo and Symposium where Volunteer Program China Manager Kirsty Armstrong explained what we do in Asia, much to the ministers delight.

Originally elected in 2004, Yaakob was re-elected in 2008 as Minister of Youth and Sports and became Minister for Domestic Trade in 2009. In his program notes he hoped the Expo would ‘raise companies capacities to meet challenges in the ever competitive world of Global Businesses’.

ImmerQi attended the event as part of an awards ceremony by the ASEAN Retail & Franchise Federation (more to come on that!) and the three day event over the weekend saw thousands visit the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre to learn about business opportunities in the ASEAN region. China of course is not part of the ASEAN region but is part of a new scheme called ASEAN plus 6 which enables China, Japan, Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand to participate.

ImmerQi promoted its ties to ASEAN countries, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia whilst also spending some time with English Language Company Malaysia who also had a booth at the event, representing Australia, their country of origin.

Yaakob told ImmerQi staff how interested he was in our projects whilst learning about the services of many others taking part including universities, electronics companies, language schools and many other exciting ventures. We at ImmerQi hope the minister was greatly impressed!
